See a Swarm? Call a Beekeeper and save the bees.
It’s that time of year again when Bee Hive populations are growing and bees have begun to swarm The hive will start to make new queens and when the time is right and queen cells are started and sometimes capped, the reigning queen will leave the hive and take 40 – 50% of the bees with her. They will usually find a stop over place where they could hang out for 1 – 2 days before they depart for their new home. During this time, scouts will be out looking for tree hollows, openings in sheds, maybe the sofit of your house or holes in a wall. Basically anyplace they can fit through that can accommodate a new home.
If a swarm stops by your house, call a beekeeper to come get them. It is best to capture them early before they establish a home in your home. It’s better for the bees and is generally a less expensive removal.
